The Choolaimedu police on 19/04/2015
brought a female senior citizen to admit her in TANSOWA Aatharavu Illam since she has been wandering near
Choolaimedu Railway station. As per the police challan her name is Meenakshi of
age 75 and her address is not known.
She has been admitted and taken care by TANSOWA Aatharavu illam. She seems to be mentally disturbed
lady. We were not able to control her at home for first few days.
Since she already ran of 2, 3 times, we have informed about her to the
Commissioner Office. As an alternative measure we have shifted her
to SAKTHI AATHARAVU ILLAM Maduravoyal
which is our sister concern. During her stay at Madhuravoyal she was comfortable there. One day she was
feeling sick and we have admitted her in KMC
Hospital for a period of 9 days and suddenly died on 11/07/15 due to heart
attack. We have informed Choolaimedu Police Station As well as Madhuravoyal
Police Station since our home is situated at their jurisdiction. Madhuravoyal
Police Station has registered a case and carried out the formalities for
burying an Orphan.
Mean
while on 21 July 2015 Mr.M. Karuppaiah the youngest son of the lady along with
three relatives came to our home and confirmed the relationship with the lady.
We have taken them to madhuravoyal police station and completed all the
formalities with the help of SI Murali and handed over the body to her
relatives.

Grief is the price we pay for love
Greatness
is the feel we achieve for serving the people
God always plays his own games in an interesting
manner which is visible through this incident.
Our team members
from TANSOWA Aatharavu illam, Mrs.Jothi and Mrs.Kaveri as per their schedule
went to collect donations in the area of housing board near MOGAIPPAIR WEST. In
their process of work they met a youngster named Selvam. Our team explained him
about the social work we do and requested him to donate some money if possible.
Reacting to this Selvam argued with our team stating that “there are several
people who just cheat the public in a similar way, just go find somebody else”.
In response Jothi replied, Sir we are government registered NGO, you can right
now call or come with us to our place and confirm that we are not here to cheat
and also showed her ID to him. Then Selvam asked the details of our home in a
brief manner. On listening he enquired whether an old lady named Meenakshi is residing
in your Tansowa Aatharavu illam? And also he told about her appearance and some
identification marks. On listening to this Kaveri replied him that , “yes sir
an old lady was there with us for the past 3 months in our home and I took care
of her. Then she fell sick one day and we admitted her in the KMC hospital. After
9 days she died .Now the body is placed in mortuary as we are waiting for their
family to hand it to over to them”. After all clarifications, finally Selvam
came to know that the old lady was the same whom he has been searching along
with his friend Karuppaiya , for the past 3 months. The old lady was none other
than Karupaiya’s mother and he is the youngest son of Meenakshi. Selvam shed
his tears and with sorrow he explained that “for the past few months we have
been searching for his mom. The whole family was completely in grief. We have also
given a police compliant, still we couldn’t trace her. With the help of God’s
grace atleast by now we came to know about her but she is no more he worried”.
Our team shared his moment of grief and pain. Then Selvam informed Karuppaiyaa
about this.
Then Karupaiyya came along with his family, he
blamed himself for missing his mother for so long and shed his tears. After few
minutes of his saddest moments he thanked our organization for the kindness and
service for looking after his mother for so long providing all the needs. The
whole family was completely sad yet they felt TANSOWA’s effort was huge and
shared a hear felt thanks to us.
At this moment the feeling of greatness which was
felt in the hearts of each and every member who has been a part of TANSOWA was
priceless.
Do you think
this sort of feeling can be achieved elsewhere???
The feeling of helping
others and the joy of giving is always ultimate.
May the soul of
MEENAKSHI AMMA rest in peace.
